Sometimes, a loose outlet can be fixed by simply tightening the screws. If you try that and the problem persists, it’s time to call your electrician.
Short Circuits
Have you ever started up your microwave or hair dryer, only to have it turn off by itself shortly after? This is what happens when you’re trying to pull more power out of a breaker than it can handle. When these short circuits happen, it can be irritating, but it’s not usually that big of a deal. The major problem is when the same circuit continues to experience issues. When extension cords aren’t used properly or are used for extended periods, they can become hazardous. If you notice a damaged cord, simply make sure to get rid of it and purchase a new one. The costs are low, and certainly much less hassle than accidentally causing damage!
